OU Makes History with Record-Setting Number of Freshman National Merit Scholars
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORMAN – For the first time in history, the University of Oklahoma ranks first in the nation among both public and private universities in the enrollment of freshman National Merit Scholars, with 313 scholars in the fall 2014 class.
No other public institution has ever enrolled more than 300 Merit Scholars in a freshman class.
The rankings for the fall 2014 class were recently released as part of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation’s annual report.
