OU Board of Regents to Meet in Claremore Sept. 16

NORMAN – Improvements to Kaufman Hall and clarification of the university’s policy regarding the payout of accrued leave upon employee termination or change in status are among topics to be discussed by the University of Oklahoma Board of Regents at its regular meeting Wednesday, Sept. 16, in Claremore.
The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Executive Board Room of the Centennial Center at Rogers State University, 1701 W. Will Rogers Blvd., with items submitted by OU, followed by Cameron University and then Rogers State University.
The board will consider a recommendation to approve construction costs for exterior improvements to Kaufman Hall, which will include the addition of brick and cast stone pilasters on the east façade facing the Scholars Walk. A partial masonry restoration will include limestone repair, brick tuck-pointing and repair of the horizontal concrete shades. The project also will include a new cast stone and brick entry canopy and new aluminum storefront doors and glazing. The building roof also will be replaced. Funding has been identified, is available and budgeted from Series 2015A General Revenue Bond proceeds and discretionary funds.
In addition, the Regents will consider a proposed revision to the Regents’ Policy that would clarify conditions for payment of accrued leave when employment ends or when the employee is no longer eligible for university benefits. The clarification also would detail when paid leave will be paid out for employees on grants and contracts and would make the policy consistent universitywide.
The next meeting of the OU Board of Regents is currently scheduled for Oct. 27 and 28 in Lawton.
