The College of Architecture is featured in an article in Architect magazine, which notes that OU is the only architecture school in the country to have a LearnLab™, featuring interactive technology.
The college has one full LearnLab™ and another mini-LearnLab for the Interior Design division’s use, and a customized “Super Studio” to bring a new way of learning and teaching.
These innovations are part of the college’s drive to transform training and education in the 21st century, with the long-awaited renovated and greatly expanded Gould Hall being an integral part of this transformation. Set to open for classes in fall 2011, the building will provide state-of-the-art, quality space for all the college’s programs: architecture, construction science, interior design, landscape architecture, and regional and city planning.
Private funds are now being raised to support college-wide initiatives associated with the college’s transformation, including:
- Increased collaboration between divisions
- International study for students and faculty
- Scholarships and endowments
- Classroom and laboratory technology upgrades
- Faculty recruitment and enrichment
