Academic Tours & Information Sessions

Add an academic tour or a Q&A style information session to your day to learn more about the major you are interested in and meet the program's staff and faculty members!

Academic tours during the spring 2018 semester will begin on Monday, January 22. When scheduling your tour, you will first schedule your 9:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. campus tour. You will then be prompted to select your academic tour. Please note, some tours require students to call 405-325-2151 to schedule.

Architecture

Architecture Tour

Fridays at 1 p.m. Located in Gould Hall, OU’s College of Architecture maintains an international reputation by offering students access to the latest digital technology. Tours will experience the college’s library, the computer labs, and the model shop where students transform their ideas into tangible designs with the 3D and modeling capabilities available to them.

Arts & Sciences Tour

Arts & Sciences Session

3rd Friday at 1 p.m. Explore the broad range of majors offered by the College of Arts and Sciences. Whether you are interested in a liberal arts degree or hope to pursue a degree in the sciences, the College of Arts and Sciences has something for everyone and prepares students for lives of professional accomplishment, civic engagement, personal fulfillment, and lifelong learning.

Aviation

Aviation Tour

Fridays at 11:00 a.m. Take off on an exciting tour of the Department of Aviation. Tours will be able to check out our fleet of single- and multi-engine aircraft and our advanced aircraft simulators.

Business Trading Room

Business Tour

Fridays at 1 p.m. OU’s Price College of Business is ranked among the top 50 business schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. While touring, visitors will learn about Price’s highly ranked undergraduate and graduate programs in addition to the college’s various economic development programs that engage faculty, students, and alumni to grow and diversify Oklahoma’s economy. 

Education

Education Tour

Fridays at 1 p.m. The Jeanine Rainbolt College of Education trains some of the finest teachers in Oklahoma. The college has been given the accolade of being an Apple Distinguished Program, and tours will learn about the college’s resources for future educators.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid Session

1st Monday and 3rd Friday at 11:30 a.m. Do you have questions about financial aid? Attend this session to learn more about the financial aid process. OU Financial Aid advisors exist to help current and prospective students learn about scholarship opportunities and to assist students in navigating their financial situations throughout their time at OU.

Engineering

Engineering Tour (Not Petroleum)

Mondays at 1 p.m. The Gallogly College of Engineering produces leaders who work to solve complex challenges around the globe through creative innovation to create better lives for current and future generations. Tours will experience the collaborative learning environment of Devon Energy Hall and observe spaces and labs where students learn and conduct research.

Fridays at 11:30 a.m. The Mewbourne School of Petroleum and Geological Engineering has a rich tradition of excellence in delivering students a petroleum engineering education that is among the best in the nation. Tours will explore Sarkeys Energy Center, which is home to two levels of laboratories and the Laurence S. Youngblood Energy Library.

Honors College

Honors College Session

Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 11:15 a.m. The Honors College at the University of Oklahoma offers a supportive community and an academically rigorous challenge for intellectually motivated undergraduate students. Tours will visit David L. Boren Hall and learn about the requirements for graduating with honors from OU.

International Studies & Education Abroad

International Studies & Education Abroad

Fridays at 1 p.m. The mission of the College of International Studies (CIS) is “to expand the OU international experience and develop compassionate, open minded citizens and leaders by enhancing global engagement and educational opportunities.” If you aspire to be a global citizen and have a deep curiosity to explore other cultures through Education Abroad, take a tour!

OU Nightly

Journalism & Mass Communication Tour

Mondays and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. Voted a top-10 Journalism & Mass Communication program in the nation by RTDNA, Gaylord College houses numerous hands-on experience opportunities for students such as the student-run advertising and public relations agency Lindsey + Asp or the student-produced full length daily news broadcast OU Nightly.

Meteorology

Meteorology Tour

Please call 405-325-2151 to schedule. Students in the School of Meteorology have an exclusive opportunity to study in the National Weather Center in Norman. Tours will explore the National Weather Center’s McCasland Family Observation Deck, the NOAA/NWS Storm Prediction Center, the NWS Norman Weather Forecast Office, and the National Severe Storm Laboratory. 

Pre-Health Session

Pre-Health Session

1st and 3rd Friday at 12:30 p.m. OU pre-health students have access to an internationally prominent faculty and state-of-the-art facilities and technology. Representatives from the OU Health Sciences Center host “First Fridays” on the first Friday of each month at the Norman campus during the fall and spring semesters to meet with students and answer questions about their degrees.

Performing Arts

Preforming Arts Tour

Please call 405-325-2151 to schedule. OU performing arts students study in a program consistently ranked among the best in the nation. Tours will visit the Donald W. Reynolds Performing Arts Center, built in 1918 as part of OU’s original campus. The building completed a multimillion dollar renovation in 2005 that features a new dance wing and revamped practice rooms. 

Visual Arts

Visual Arts Tour

The OU School of Visual Arts cultivates excellence in the study of the visual arts, design, and art history to promote the growth of culture and meet the artistic needs of the community. Tours will visit the Lightwell Gallery, the Charles M. Russell Center for the Study of Art of the American West, and the Fred Jones Art Center.
