Diversity Enrichment Programs

OU has a culturally diverse student body, representing all 50 states, over 50 tribal affiliations, and over 100 foreign countries, and our Diversity Enrichment Program continues to strive to make our university as diverse as possible. Scroll below to learn more about the resources available to our diverse student body.

University Support

Diversity Enrichment Program (DEP) representatives work with prospective African American, Latino, Asian American, and Native American students and their families as they navigate the high school to college transition. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to one of our DEP representatives or other campus resources including University Community or our Chickasaw and Choctaw tribal liasions.

OU's Student Life office facilitates four different multicultural communities: African American Student Life, American Indian Student Life, Asian American Student Life, Latino Student Life. Visit our diverse communities for more information.

Scholarship & Internship Opportunities

OU's Diversity Enrichment Programs offer several forms of scholarships and financial assistance for first generation students, as well as a paid Recruitment Internship for qualified students to assist with the recruitment of a diverse student body and will represent the University of Oklahoma at college fairs, on-camps recruitment events, and in the surrounding community. The application deadline is March 20. Click here to learn more.

Special Events

Diversity Enrichment Programs host multiple events each academic year for diverse students to connect them to resources and a support team at the university. To see our events, click here.

Preparing for the ACT/SAT

Standardized tests will be important as you apply to colleges, and with practice and preparation, you can significantly impact your score. There are so many resources out there to help you study, and many of them are free or low-cost.

We highly recommend the Khan Academy's FREE test prep for online, self-guided help, and ACT's test preparation resources. For in-person prep classes, OU offers ACT prep sessions for $100, and Oklahoma City Community College offers ACT prep sessions for just $20.

The ACT and the SAT are structured differently, so try both exams if you can to see which you perform better on, and then focus on studying and improving that score. Colleges will accept either the ACT or SAT and preference is not given to either one, so it's totally up to you!

If you would like additional assistance in preparing for the ACT and/or SAT, please email dep@ou.edu.

Undocumented & DACA Students

If you are an undocumented student, please visit our Undocumented Admissions page for information on how to apply to the University of Oklahoma. To learn more about DACA and how OU can assist you, please click here.
