Supporting Inclusive Excellence

I. Professional Learning and Development Grant

For Faculty and Staff

Awarded to faculty or staff for the purpose of supporting research and innovative projects that align with UC’s vision of inclusive excellence. Grants can also support travel for conference presentations on subjects that address: equity, inclusion, inclusive learning environments, inclusive pedagogies, historical contexts on indigenous people, diversity programs, etc.

To be considered, please submit the following: 

  • Accepted conference proposal
  • Abstract of ongoing research or project
  • Summary budget indicating areas of financial needA completed application form (Download form here)

Amount: $ 1000 per awardee per academic year

II. Student Leadership & Academic Development Scholarship

For Students

The purpose of the Student Leadership & Academic Development scholarship is to support students’ academic and professional learning, engagement and involvement in diversity and inclusivity initiatives and/or projects.

Awarded to currently enrolled graduate and undergraduate students to meet fees, professional conference registration, travel for professional conference presentation, or study abroad. Awards will be based on academic achievement and financial need. Undergraduate students should have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA. Graduate students should have a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Other application materials will include:

  • Current academic transcript (official or unofficial)
  • Personal essay/statement that address the following:
    – Personal career goals
    – Engagement and involvement in community service and/or volunteerism in causes that support an inclusive OU community
  • Proof of financial need or Financial Aid package
  • A completed application form (Download form here)

Amount: $1000 per awardee per academic year

III. Community Building Grants

Registered Student Organizations

OU has several student organizations whose mission is to advance diversity and inclusion through events and programming. UC would like to support campus affiliated student organizations by offering grants to offset marketing, printing and other related costs.

To be considered:

  • Submit the request using the Office of Diversity and Inclusion sponsorship request form.

Amount: $50—$350 per organization per academic year

Spring – FEBRUARY 1ST
