Are you a high school student looking to spend part of your summer on the campus of the University of Oklahoma? Then check out some of the opportunities offered at OU this summer for students of various ages and ranging in length from day camps to four-week programs.
Programs for High School Students
June 9 - July 5, 2019
Are you a high school sophomore or junior who wants to get a jumpstart on your college experience? Amplify your Concurrent Enrollment experience by spending four weeks at the University of Oklahoma during June this summer through Sooner Discovery. Take college courses, earn college credit, maximize your academic potential, and experience life as a Sooner on campus.
Sooner Flight Academy
June 10 - 14 and July 8 - 12, 2019
The OU Sooner Flight Academy summer flight camps challenge students ages six to 18 to learn the principles of flight using science and mathematics. Campers engage in hands-on activities which demonstrate the science, technology, engineering, and math of the exciting world of flight.
Boeing Engineering Days
June 14, 15, 21, 22 and July 12, 13, 20
OU Boeing Engineering Days are a summer day camp for rising high school juniors and seniors on Fridays and Saturdays in the months of June and July. Each day offers hands-on activities that highlight a different school in engineering.
C.L.I.M.B: Chemistry Learning Incorporating Mathematics and Biology
June 16 - 21, 2019 (Available to rising 11th and 12th graders residing in Oklahoma)
The CLIMB Summer Academy incorporates the study of Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics, Medicine, History, Sociology and Native American Studies. Students spend time in a working research laboratory on the OU campus, live in the university residence halls, eat on campus, and learn in university classrooms - giving students a real “feel” for college life.
Summer Met Days
June 24 and July 15, 2019
The School of Meteorology’s Summer Met Days provide an opportunity to high school students looking into our program to come to Norman, check out the campus and the NWC, and meet our amazing faculty, students, and staff!
Oklahoma Institute for Diversity in Journalism
July 13 - 19, 2019
The Oklahoma Institute for Diversity in Journalism offers an annual summer workshop for promising high school students. The program’s goal is to expose youth to careers in the world of daily journalism. OIDJ’s mission is to provide opportunities for students who would otherwise lack access to journalism training or who face other barriers to pursuing careers in journalism.
Find Your Future Summer Education Camp
July 21 - 26, 2019
The Find Your Future Summer Education Camp is a five-day residential program designed to recruit and prepare high school students of color who are interested in becoming educators in order to address the critical shortage of educators from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds in the state of Oklahoma and across the country.
Programs for Incoming OU Freshmen
June 19 - 21, June 26 - 28, July 10 - 12, July 17 - 19, and July 24 - 26
Camp Crimson is a OU's official orientation camp. It is a three day and two night experience, with an attendance of around 2,500 students per year. Camp Crimson is not just a summer orientation camp. It’s the beginning of a relationship between new students and the University of Oklahoma.

Are you accepted to the OU Class of 2023? Do you want to get started early with your first year experience? Through Start Sooner, you can move into your residence hall early, take six hours of class, and start your Sooner experience sooner.
AT&T Summer Bridge Program
July 9 - Aug. 2, 2019
AT&T Summer Bridge is a four-week residential, on-campus program for freshman students who have been accepted to the University of Oklahoma and who are planning to major in an engineering discipline.
